It is important for users to understand that these training templates are meant to be used by competent trainers in trainer-trainee situations. They are not standard operating procedures, and in no way do they comprise stand-alone training for persons wishing to work responsibly with fish.

Core Stream

The training modules of the core stream, which reflect the core topics of the CCAC Recommended Syllabus for an Institutional Animal User Training Program, are relevant to the training of all animal users (including investigators, post-doctoral fellows, research staff and graduate students).

These training modules are intended as resources that:

  • institutions and ACCs may use to ensure their animal users meet the theoretical training requirements of their institutional animal user training program
  • teachers may use to introduce the topic of the ethical use and care of animals in their courses.
