CCAC Publishes Air Quality Guidelines

Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning: Addendum to the CCAC guidelines on laboratory animal facilities – characteristics, design and development is now available. This addendum focuses on performance standards rather than prescribed air change rates, to help institutions take advantage of technological advancements while ensuring clean air is provided for the animals and personnel. The CCAC has also developed frequently asked questions and an implementation document to support the application of these guidelines.
The CCAC would like to thank all of the volunteer experts who participated in the development of this addendum. Your insights and expertise are deeply valued and we truly appreciate the important role you play in the development of CCAC's high standards for animal ethics and care in Canadian science.
