Stars for the Harry Rowsell Award

The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) is pleased to announce that the call for nominations for the Harry C. Rowsell Award for Outstanding Service to the CCAC is now open!

>This award recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the CCAC, and who uphold the highest standards in the ethical care and use of animals in Canadian science through dedication, competence, performance, service, and/or ingenuity. This award is open to anyone working in the field of animal care and use, including, but not limited to, animal welfare experts, animal laboratory technicians, teachers, researchers, veterinarians, and animal care committee members.

We invite all of our stakeholders to nominate deserving individuals for this award. Self-nominations will also be accepted. While a nominee can only win the award once, nomination packages for previous candidates may be resubmitted if they meet all award criteria.

Help us celebrate some of the country’s best and brightest who are working to improve the care and ethical treatment of animals in science. Submit your nomination by Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. EST and thank those who uphold the highest standards in the ethical care and use of animals in Canadian science.

Please visit the CCAC website for the nomination requirements and selection criteria.

The CCAC’s work is based on building meaningful, enduring, and respectful relationships among its many stakeholders, which cannot be accomplished without a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. The CCAC aims to reduce barriers for everyone, particularly under-represented groups, and is committed to ensuring there is no unjustified discrimination in its workplace, processes, standards, and operations.
