The CCAC Has Revised Its Confidentiality Policy

The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) has revised the CCAC policy: Confidentiality of assessment information.

As you are aware, the CCAC will be launching its transparency initiative this month, and Phase 1 of the plan requires changes be made to this policy. These amendments include the publication of non-identifiable aggregated data, as well as the publication of all names of CCAC-certified institutions on the CCAC website. The CCAC also clarified its obligation to notify the federal granting agencies when institutions are no longer certified, where required. Finally, as the CCAC encourages institutions to publish their assessment reports and letters, the policy was changed to ensure that when reports are published, no names are released.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to . More information on the CCAC’s transparency initiative will be published later this week.
