Call for Members: Public Affairs and Communications Committee
The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) is looking for a veterinarian and a researcher with interest or experience in, or knowledge of, communications, public affairs, media relations, or marketing to volunteer for its Public Affairs and Communications Committee.
Committee members provide invaluable insight on the communication needs of certified institutions, approaches for engaging program participants, and the support necessary to uphold the highest standards of animal care and use. The committee is also tasked with enhancing the quality of the CCAC’s communications, outreach, and visibility initiatives, and positioning the CCAC as the national organization responsible for ensuring high standards of ethical animal care and use in Canadian science.
Consult the terms of reference for more information.
Approved members will be appointed to serve an initial term of three years. Appointees are eligible for reappointment by the CCAC Board of Directors but may not serve more than six consecutive years, except in the case of extenuating circumstances. Please note that all committee work is conducted in English.
Committee discussions take place mostly via email and videoconference, with the exception of one in-person meeting annually, conditions permitting. Occasionally, members may also be asked to contribute to the preparation of materials that support the CCAC.
Interested applicants are asked to please forward their name, brief biography, CV, and contact information to the CCAC Secretariat at by May 4, 2026.
