Guidelines and Policies
Other Recognized Standards
Across Canada, assessments of institutional animal care and use programs are based not only on the CCAC’s guidelines and policies but also on other standards of ethical animal care and use as recognized by CCAC and mentioned below. These standards are set forth in publications by organizations which have a formal or regulatory role in Canada for the provision of competent animal care. The inclusion of these standards help the CCAC achieve its mission of ensuring that high standards of ethical animal care and use are implemented in all animal-based science conducted throughout Canada.
