June 27, 2017Canadian Centre for Alternatives to Animal Methods to Open at the University of Windsor
The University of Windsor has announced the creation of the Canadian Centre for Alternatives to Animal Methods (CCAAM), which "aims to develop, validate, and promote methodologies in biomedical research, education, and chemical toxicity testing that do not require the use of animals." Faculty members will consist of experts in a number of fields including biology, biochemistry, philosophy, and ethics. The Centre plans to eventually offer degree programs in animal replacement science. More information on this initiative is available on the CCAAM's website.
