Training
Modules
Based on Appendix 1, "Recommended Syllabus for an Institutional Animal User Training Program" of the CCAC guidelines on: training of personnel working with animals in science (2015), the CCAC offers training modules to support institutions in developing and implementing their own training programs for animal care committees and all other personnel who use animals (including investigators, postdoctoral fellows, research staff, veterinarians, and graduate students).
Core Stream
The training modules of the core stream are relevant to anyone who uses animals in science.
Animals and Housing Systems Streams
The knowledge streams focus on different animal species and housing systems and enable institutions to better tailor their training priorities to the needs of personnel using animals in science.
Please note:
The training requirements and the competencies of those using animals in science are to be determined by institutional animal care committees, together with those responsible for training and with the institution's senior administrator.
