Virtual Learning Series
Effective training for all personnel involved in animal-based science is an essential component of any institutional animal care and use program. To support this, the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) is introducing a virtual learning series, aimed at improving the ethical care and use of animals in Canadian science. These sessions will bring together program participants within CCAC-certified institutions to discuss best practices and address the challenges associated with the implementation of CCAC guidelines and policies.
Making the Most of Your Animal Welfare Assessment Data – cost $60 + tax
By now, institutions have implemented their animal welfare assessment programs, whether integrated into daily health checks or conducted regularly based on research activity schedules. But the real question is: what happens next? This session will explore how to effectively translate animal welfare assessment data for the use of the animal care committee and how the committee can, in turn, apply that information to strengthen its institutional animal care and use program. Learn how to interpret and present data in ways that identify opportunities to refine protocols, enhance decision-making, and improve animal welfare outcomes.
